Everyone would agree that the essential prerequisite for a flat stomach / flat belly is having no excess weight or not being obese. And the stomach/belly is the most troublesome part of the body in this regard, even for slim people. Nobody likes to have extra fat stored around the belly. This, however, is not just a problem of appearance but a health problem as well. We are talking about here “internal” fat, not the kind which is stored right under the skin and can be squeezed between fingers. This is fat that wraps itself around vital body organs like the bowels or the liver. The fat does not sit there passively but continuously penetrates the blood in the form of fatty acids. The consequences are found in serious health problems – heart attacks, strokes or other cardio-vascular diseases, an increased risk of diabetes and disorders of fat metabolism. This should be reason enough to encourage us to discover how to lose weight on the stomach.
Many people think that the only way to get a flat stomach/flat belly is by daily punishing the stomach muscles with special exercises. Another erroneous myth suggests that to lose stomach/belly fat only presents a problem for people with excess weight. But slim people may also have problems with buttoning their trousers or skirts. There are several reasons for this, but in the main it is caused by the wrong combination of foods or toxic food, resulting in bowel malfunction; further, wrong posture or lax stomach/belly muscles.
The dream of every man or woman is to have a flat stomach/flat belly. How does one reach this goal? Is it even possible? The answer is “yes”, but only by adhering to certain rules. Perhaps you won’t believe this but the fastest and most effective way to turn the body into a machine which destroys fat is by getting rid of accumulated waste and poisons through a body detox.
The Colonix program
This is an excellent aid in internal cleansing. It ensures weight loss in a natural way. When using it you will not only lose a few pounds but also gain more vitality. Moreover, because digestion and absorption of food is improved, its accumulation in the form of fat is limited. Furthermore, and this applies to everybody, a regular body detox is guaranteed to help on the path of how to lose weight on the stomach / belly.
At the end I have given a few tips and tricks on how to get a flat stomach/flat belly without having to suffer in the fitness center or gym every day. Naturally, the tips are mainly of help to people who’s BMI (Body Mass Index) is within the norm and who do not carry around excess weight, but are troubled only by a slightly protruding stomach/belly. And so little is needed – a change in lifestyle and a few handy tricks.
How to lose stomach / belly fat
Why does one gain extra weight? There are a few reasons. First of all the term “healthy food“ is not properly understood. We favor fatty, overly sweet or salty foods and eat huge portions. When faced with the results and wanting to lose weight we choose to go on fashionable or radical diets, and so we lose a few pounds mostly by sacrificing water or muscle tissue. In order to achieve a permanent slimming of the waist however, we need to get rid of fat and here the combination and composition of food plays an essential role. But other factors are also important. Comply with the following advice and rules.
If it is permanent weight loss you desire then forget drastic lose weight measures or even fasting.
- Do not overeat! In order to slim down you need to eat regularly. Eat small portions 5 – 6-times a day.
- Totally eliminate these items from the menu: fatty and fried foods, white flour and all products made from it (bread, bakery products, pastry, pasta etc.). Theses foods contain almost no fibre and so could clog the digestive system and cause dangerous chronic constipation. Instead, use whole wheat flour, eat oat flakes, natural rice and most of all lots of vegetables as side dishes.
- Combine foods that will provide a balanced metabolism - that is the key to an ideal figure. This means choosing steamed or raw vegetables as a side dish for meat. Rice or pasta can be eaten together with vegetables as for example in a risotto or with fruit as in sweet rice. Cheese should be eaten in a salad - grated or diced, e.g. in a Greek salad, but not with bread.
- Rather than eating sweets containing refined sugar have natural sweets such as honey, bananas, pineapple or other types of sweet fruit. These provide the necessary supply of sugar and also enhance health.
- Eat fruit only on an empty stomach; when eating fruit immediately after a meal it starts to ferment in the bowels and gasses are formed. Consequently, the belly becomes bloated and you feel tired, as well as saying good bye to a flat stomach/flat belly.
In addition to healthy food and exercise sufficient sleep and stress elimination are also important factors in helping to lose stomach / belly fat. The body typically reacts to stress by producing an increased amount of certain hormones. If stress persists over a long period of time some people accumulate more mass and are not able to lose weight. Commonly there are two problems:
- When in stressful situations people tend to eat more, and usually more sweet foods.
- The body produces a lot of the cortisone hormone. It maintains a high level of blood sugar and the body therefore stores fat in cells which accumulate predominantly in the waist area. Moreover, if the body does not get enough sleep it produces less of the growth hormone which is necessary to burn fat.
Is there any help? Eating healthy food rich in magnesium is not sufficient on its own; it is also necessary to take a magnesium nutritional supplement. This prevents the production of an excess amount of cortisone and adrenaline. Further, anti-stress exercise is of help – e.g. take a few minutes to calmly concentrate only on your breathing. Moreover, regular sport helps in the secretion of endorphins, the happiness hormones, and tension and stress gradually disappear. Herbal teas made with lemon balm, thyme or KleriTea promote calm and so are suitable for evening consumption.
The optimum condition of the colon is not only the starting point for good fitness and a pleasant appearance, but also for weight loss. The most widespread problem is a peristalsis disorder and elimination difficulties. This is a result of an insufficient water intake and incorrect eating habits.
With too little water the colon dries up. This is perceived as a feeling of fullness, and bloating and constipation set in. The belief that every glass of water adds to the size of the stomach is nonsense. On the contrary - depending on weight one should drink 2 – 3 liters daily. This provides protection from hunger pains, helps in “dissolving” pounds and cleanses the body. A regular supply of liquids improves peristalsis as well so there will be no feeling of a full stomach.
Because there is not enough natural fibre in the food we eat the bowel is unable to play one of its very important roles which is to eliminate all poisonous, fermenting and putrefying waste material which, apart from various serious health problems, also causes flatulence or a bloated stomach. For many people flatulence is a source of major annoyance. Not only does it prevent buttoning the jeans but it also causes sharp pain in the stomach/belly region. And this, in addition to fat, can also be a reason for a larger waist and so it prevents you from having a flat stomach/flat belly. People with sedentary jobs are the most susceptible here. But help is readily available in the form of a daily 20 or, even better, 30 minute brisk walk, a higher intake of water, foods rich in fibre and a regular body detox.
Use stomach/belly muscles continuously, straighten up while sitting or standing
For an attractive flat stomach/flat belly exercise is also required. Eating only healthy food is not sufficient; this alone will not bring about atoned stomach/belly.
There are many exercises targeting the stomach/belly; choose the ones you like the most. To achieve the toning of muscles a slow lifting and lowering of the upper body onto a mat is the best. It is imperative to lift the spine off the mat vertebrae by vertebrae, the slower the better. While lifting take breaks during which the upper stomach/belly muscles are tightened even more. When doing this imagine the stomach/belly muscles being a sponge full of water which you are trying to wring out as best you can. Repeat the exercise several times. The position of the legs can be changed at random, from straight to bent. In this way a different muscle group is being activated and worked each time.
On top of this you can exercise the stomach/belly all the time. How do you do this? During the day, whenever you think of it, concentrate on the stomach/belly and pull it in slightly so that is is not protruding and flabby. This can be done whether sitting at the computer or standing at a bus stop. Note that while doing this it is not only the stomach/belly that is pulled in but automatically the neck and back are straightened too, the shoulders pull backwards and the chest is pushed forward. The body immediately assumes a different, and more correct straight posture. And this is achieved by only slightly moving one muscle of the body! Gently pull in the stomach/belly whenever thinking about it until it becomes second nature.
Avoid carbonated drinks and chewing gum
Aside from gasses created by putrefying intestinal bacteria, the bowels also contain a large amount of swallowed air. When choosing non-carbonated mineral water with a slice of lemon(which is a natural detoxifying drink) over carbonated water you’ll find that you are contributing towards a flat stomach/flat belly. Chewing gum means swallowing lots of air. At the same time the mouth produces saliva and the stomach is convinced you ate something. It starts producing digestive juices. But because there is no food in the stomach the juices can cause gasses and bloating. Using a straw for drinking also brings unnecessary air into the digestive system.
Prevent a bloated stomach/belly
This presents a difficulty not only for people with excess weight. And that’s why even slim people may have problems when trying to button their clothes around the waist. Possible causes are:
- Wrong combination of foods
- Bloating is caused by foods rich in saccharides or raw foods. Some foods causing bloating include savoy cabbage, cabbage, peas, chick peas, beans or lentils. When cooking these foods add spices or herbs that help in digesting them. Calamine, rosemary, sage, caraway seeds and fennel are all suitable in this regard.
Ginger tea is excellent in preventing bloating:
Pour boiling water over one spoonful of freshly grated ginger and let steep for 10 minutes. Add the juice of half a lemon and a spoonful of honey if desired.

I couldn't believe the results!
